Terms of Use

Updated 16 October 2026. These terms concern HorrorBooks, an independent publication at horrorbooks.co.

Reading guidance and its limits

The site offers research-led information about prose horror, authors, editions and reading sequences. A fit judgment is an editorial opinion. It does not promise that a book will frighten you, that a content note lists every concern, or that a title suits every reader in a publishing age category.

Check the exact edition before relying on a contents list, translation, abridgement, narrator or page count. Source records can change. Publication years describe original works unless a page labels them as edition dates. Fictional events are not historical, scientific or medical evidence.

Use of the pages

You may read, link to and print the guides for personal reference. Short quotations should credit HorrorBooks and link to the source page. Do not republish full articles, sell the site's original reference sheets or present its writing and design as your own.

Book titles and author names identify the works discussed. They do not imply ownership of those works or an endorsement by an author, publisher or rights holder. The site's original text, layouts and permitted illustrative assets have their own rights. A public-domain work may have a modern introduction or translation that remains protected.

Other websites

Source links lead to websites operated by other parties. Their terms, privacy policies, stock and edition records are their responsibility. A source citation is not a purchase instruction or a promise that every linked page is free of spoilers. Book selection pages contain Amazon affiliate links, as described on the disclosure page. This site has no advertising.

Accuracy and corrections

HorrorBooks aims to keep factual statements tied to sources. It cannot promise uninterrupted access or error-free content. To the extent applicable law permits, the material is supplied without a warranty about fitness for a particular use. These terms do not exclude a right or remedy that the law does not allow us to exclude.

Send a suspected error with its page URL, book title, edition or ISBN, and a source showing the correction to hello@horrorbooks.co. Put a spoiler warning before any plot outcome. Do not send material you lack the right to share.

Contact and policy changes

The contact route is email to HorrorBooks. The privacy page explains this version's scripts and storage. Changes to these terms will carry a revised date; they do not replace legal protections that apply to your use.
