Disclosure and Editorial Independence

Updated 16 October 2026. HorrorBooks is an independent publication at horrorbooks.co. It is not operated or endorsed by the authors or publishers whose works it discusses.

Current funding position

Book and audiobook selection pages include Amazon affiliate links. HorrorBooks may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through those links. The disclosure appears beneath the title on pages that carry them. The merchant controls its prices, stock and purchase terms.

Links to publishers and author websites serve as source citations. A source link alone does not mean that HorrorBooks earns from a purchase. There are no paid memberships, email subscriptions, gated reading recommendations or advertising placements.

How reading choices are made

Guides use author bibliographies, publisher records and named source texts to establish works, editions and sequences. Recommendations explain a reading match and a limitation. They do not use invented ratings, reader polls or claims of personal reading and listening.

Intensity is a judgment about the kind of material and threat, not a universal fear score. Content cautions are selective. If a boundary is firm, check a sample or the exact work before choosing it. A teen category and a child protagonist are different facts.

Images and book covers

The reading settings illustrate an atmosphere. They are not photographs of named book editions, author visits or testing. Book titles are presented as text when authorized cover art is unavailable. An image does not establish a work's contents or condition.
