Pseudonym for: Bob Fingerman
Format: Trade Paperback
Type: Horror Novel
Page Count: 268pp.
Pub. Date: December 20, 2006
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics

In this debut novel by B. H. Fingerman, you will find a comical and creepy foray into the life of a working-class vampire.

Phil Merman is a regular guy.

A regular guy who just happens to be immortal, for whatever that’s worth.

So far all it’s gotten him is a divorce, a lack of friends and family, and a string of soul-killing jobs with no room for advancement.

Bound to a self-imposed ethical code bordering on vigilantism, Phil prowls the bowels of New York City in search of suitable sustenance — the homeless, the insane, no one who’ll be missed — all the while wondering how he became what he is.

Are there others of his kind? Would he want to know them? Clues to the mystery of his existence begin to reveal themselves, luring him into spaces perhaps best left unknown.

Another Summary:

In this debut novel by B. H. Fingerman, you will find a comical and creepy foray into the life of a working-class vampire.

A man can go missing in New York City. A life can disappear. Teeth can sharpen, skin go pale, eyes reject the sun.

One day, you’re human. The next, you’re a vampire, with an undying taste for blood.

Set in the New York of prostitutes, junkies, and lonely hearts, Bottomfeeder tells the story of Philip, a smart-ass in a dead-end job, whose life takes an unusual turn after he tangles with a vampire. Now, spurred by a bloodlust stronger than his humanity, he haunts the abandoned streets alone, trying to maintain a semblance of normalcy while looking for prey.

You Deserved It is a graphic horror novel of wanton violence and social wrongness written and illustrated by Bob Fingerman

You Deserved It

Author: Fingerman, Bob
Artist: Bob Fingerman
Format: Trade Paperback
Type: Graphic Horror Novel
Page Count: 88pp.
Pub. Date: October 18, 2005
Publisher: Dark Horse

Is Bob Fingerman a cynical misanthrope or a disappointed humanitarian? Dare we suggest maybe both?

In You Deserved It, the sensitive creator of the acclaimed graphic novel Beg the Question accesses his darker side, serving up this caustic collection of comical cautionary chronicles. What Beg the Question was to sex and romance, You Deserved It is to wanton violence and social wrongness.

From “Otis Goes Hollywood,” the epic saga of a homicidally puritanical meat packer with dreams of making it big in Hollywood, to “Missing Pieces,” a yarn about the extracurricular activities of paramedics, to “Buying Bologna,” about a guy who just really, really loves his luncheon meat, to “Yiffy Situation,” a fuzzy fable about fornicating Furries, You Deserved It serves up enough yarns to make one hilariously misanthropic sweater, all in living — and dying — color!

Bad things are brewing in the halls of the Ben Turpin School for K-8.

When a science project goes wrong, only the prepubescent children are spared the fate of zombification — which is not to say that they’re immune from being eaten alive!

George Romero covered night, dawn and day, but how about recess?

With Recess Pieces, Bob Fingerman (Beg the Question, You Deserved It) dishes up a grisly combination of Hal Roach’s “Our Gang” and zombies, zombies and more zombies

Connective Tissue is a graphic horror novella of surreal wrongness written and illustrated by Bob Fingerman

Connective Tissue

Author: Fingerman, Bob
Artist: Bob Fingerman
Format: Trade Paperback
Type: Graphic Horror Novel
Page Count: 136pp.
Pub. Date: June 23, 2009
Publisher: Fantagraphics Books

Video store clerk Darla Vogel is fed up, until one of her customers, a precocious home-schooled kid, offers her some of his meat-tinged candies.

Darla takes a plunge down the rabbit hole into a surreal world of throbbing, veinous buildings, compulsory public nudity, weird creatures and more.

If William S. Burroughs, Lewis Carroll, H.P. Lovecraft and Harvey Kurtzman had a mutant lovechild, it might resemble Bob Fingerman’s bold new confection, Connective Tissue.

Fingerman, a cartoonist and novelist best known for an acclaimed graphic novel (Beg the Question, a Gen X classic) and an acclaimed prose novel (Bottomfeeder), merges the disciplines in Connective Tissue, a genre-bending and medium-mixing work best described as a fully illustrated novella.

From the Ashes: A Speculative Memoir is a graphic speculative memoir of real love and made up Armageddon written and illustrated by Bob Fingerman

Author: Fingerman, Bob
Artist: Bob Fingerman
Format: Trade Paperback
Type: Graphic Horror Novel
Page Count: 176pp.
Pub. Date: March 1, 2010
Publisher: Idea and Design Works LLC

Bob Fingerman’s speculative memoir (starring Bob and his wife Michelle) set in a post-apocalyptic and nuclear ravaged New York City is a surprisingly perky take on Armageddon.

A hip satirical romp though Manhattan’s ruins, From the Ashes is a new spin on the old autobiographical comics genre.
